Find Bolivian Brides – A Guide for UK Men

Bolivian mail order brides are not the most popular brides in the region. Even in the US, there were only 46 K-1 visa holders from this country in 2023 (a fiancé (e) visa), and in the UK, there are only 3,600 people born in Bolivia.
It’s strange because Bolivian women actually make great wives—they’re loyal, very feminine, have quite traditional values, and they are very attractive. We believe that men in the UK simply underestimate Bolivian brides and just don’t know a lot about them.
And we’re going to change it. Let’s talk about these women; they definitely deserve it.

Bolivian mail order brides: Modern concept
The whole concept of mail order brides has been around for a while. It all began with the first “tobacco wives” in the Jamestown colony and the “King’s daughters” in Louisiana during the 17th and 18th centuries. In the 19th century, there were thousands of “picture brides” from Asia who moved to the West (because there was a demand among Asian migrants). Of course, hundreds of European women migrated to America during the California Gold Rush.
In the 20th-21st century, the concept remained the same: foreign women “advertise” themselves, chat with men, and then meet in person and get married. Even the most popular regions for mail order brides remain the same—Asia and Europe are still the top regions in this regard.
And South America, of course. But as you already know, Bolivian brides aren’t the most popular in South America, and they never were. In the 18th century, the country was a mess with more than 100 revolts in 100 years. In the 19th century, the mess became even messier. The country only transitioned to democracy in the 1980s!
As for Bolivian brides in the UK, Bolivia and the UK don’t share a long history; they lack strong political or social ties, and English is not widely spoken in Bolivia. Bolivian women who sought a foreign husband have traditionally been more interested in the US (due to its proximity) and Spain (because of the language) than in the United Kingdom.
However, with online dating sites, their attitude is changing—there are at least a few thousand Bolivian mail order brides on the top dating apps in 2025, and they’re genuinely interested in men from the UK.
Statistics you didn’t know about Bolivian women
- The total fertility rate in Bolivia is 2.55 children per woman, much higher than in the US (1.79) and in most South American countries (1.65 in Brazil, 1.7 in Colombia).
- They get married earlier than women in the UK—the average age at first marriage for Bolivian ladies is 24 years old, while in the United Kingdom, it’s 31 years old.
- They are religious. Approximately 65% of Bolivians are Roman Catholics, and 89% of the population considers religion important.
- They are not as bad at English as some might think. Yes, it’s not the #1 country in the region in this regard, but its English proficiency index is surprisingly high—it’s higher than that of France, Israel, South Korea, Chile, Peru, and Mexico.
- They are traditional, family-centered, and one of the main roles for them is the role of a homemaker. Bolivian women spend much more time doing unpaid household activities than their men—it’s 35 hours per week vs 9 hours per week. In the United Kingdom, the average working hours are 24.5 hours per week for women and 18.2 hours per week for men.
Are Bolivian mail order brides legal in the UK?
Yes. Just like all the other Latin brides, Bolivian women for marriage are 100% legal in the United Kingdom. Just like all the other brides from all over the world, actually.
Here’s how it works:
- You can marry a Bolivian woman using either a Fiancé visa or a Spouse visa. If it’s the latter, you get married before applying; if it’s the former, you apply before getting married, it’s simple. The Fiancé visa is for those who intend to get married in the UK; the Spouse visa is for those who are already married. That’s not the only difference, of course.
- The Fiancé visa costs £1,938, while the Spouse visa would cost you £5,043 in total (visa+IHS), but your bride won’t be able to work or study on the Fiancé visa. What’s more, getting the Fiancé(e) visa is actually not the end—your bride will still need to switch to a Spouse visa after the marriage in order to stay in the UK for more than 6 months (the duration of a Fiancé visa).
- The duration of a Spouse visa is 2.5 years; it can be extended to 5 years. After 5 years in the UK, your wife will be eligible to apply for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain).
So, it’s pretty simple: you get married, your wife gets a Spouse visa, then, after 5 years, she applies for ILR, and then, she’ll be able to apply for citizenship. Of course, all this applies only to couples whose relationships are genuine and real. If there’s a suspicion that a foreign partner is going to marry a UK citizen in order to gain immigration advantages or if there is a possibility of forced marriage/human trafficking, the ICE and the IEI officers will launch a marriage investigation.
How much are Bolivian mail order wives?

You can’t buy a wife online. The whole idea of buying a bride is close to human trafficking, and it’s evil, illegal, and there’s no excuse for it.
And still, you’ll need to pay. First, you’ll have to pay for the dating site—all the best ones are paid today. You’ll also need to pay for a trip to Bolivia and, of course, for a visa (if you’re going to get your wife to the UK).
How much does it cost?
Dating site | £210 |
Trip (1 week) | £2,000 |
Visa | £5,500-£6,400 |
Total | £7,700-£8,600 |
💻 Dating sites cost
All the top dating sites are paid in 2025. If you see a free dating app and it looks real and nice, it’s 100% a fake or a scam platform. At best, you’ll waste a lot of time chatting with bots. At worst, you’ll become a victim of a romance scammer. Paid dating sites, in turn, protect their users from bots and scammers, so the chances of finding a Bolivian wife there are much higher.
Typically, they have a credit-based system nowadays: you purchase a certain amount of credits, which you can exchange for chatting and sending photos. When you run out of credits, you can buy more.
Most men spend around 15 minutes per day chatting with the ladies online. Let’s say it’s going to be 450 minutes per month plus 15 photos (typically, you need to pay to send the pictures and to watch the photos sent to you). Let’s take SofiaDate as an example and calculate the monthly cost of a dating site:
- 1 credit on SofiaDate costs £0.2
- 1 minute of live chat costs 2 credits or £0.4
- Sending 1 photo costs 10 credits of £2
- 450 minutes of live chat cost 900 credits or £180
- Sending/watching 15 photos costs £30
- Total—£210/month
✈️ Trip to the bride’s country
You’ll have to visit your bride in her country, it’s required for a Fiancé visa. Let’s say you’re going to spend 7 days in Bolivia. How much does it cost?
- A flight from London to La Paz or Santa Cruz – £800
- A hotel room in Bolivia – £60 per night for a good hotel like Hostal Las Olas
- Dates, gifts, entertainment – £400
- Food, transportation – £200
- Total – £2,000
